The intertidal zone is quite possibly our favourite place to play. Particularly, the intertidal zone on a rocky beach. Sure, sand is fun. It can be turned into castles or giant pits. Perfect for walking barefoot. However, a rocky beach is full of interesting things to see and places to explore.
Underwater anemone gardens. Salt-crusted pools. Brimming with diversity.
Here are a series of photos taken over the past year, as we explored our local beaches.

2. A garden of anemone and barnacles.

3. Una with a tiny crab.

4. Sea stars are finally starting to return.

5. I’m not sure what this is… an art exhibit? An experiment? Honestly, if you know please share in the comments section!
